Hair Removal - remove unwanted hair

How does it work?
Instead of waxing, shaving or depilatory creams, laser offers permanent hair reduction.  Laser hair removal can be done on any part of the body where there is hair (e.g. face, arms, underarms, bikini area, legs and back). A pulse of light is delivered to the targeted hair and is absorbed down to the follicle, destroying the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue. New hair will not regrow from the damaged follicle.

What should I expect?  How many treatments do I need?
There are few side effects, other than some minor redness and swelling immediately following treatment. Swelling and redness should resolve in a few hours. It may take 3-6 treatments to get optimal results but results should be noticeable with each treatment.

Limelight (IPL) - treatment of skin redness, tiny veins, brown spots and sun damage

What is it?  What does it do?
Limelight (IPL) Photofacial is a light based treatment used to combat age spots, freckles, skin redness, tiny veins and sun damage. The heating of the abnormal red and brown pigment breaks it down into smaller particles which are then eliminated by body’s own immune cycle. The treatment provides skin rejuvenation by improving skin tone and surface imperfections due to aging and photo damage. Limelight can also help the appearance of rosacea. Depending on your skin type and type of desired correction, a setting is selected by the Doctor, and pulses of light/heat are delivered to the skin that causing a therapeutic effect.

What should I expect?  When will I see results?
Immediately after treatment, brown spots will start to darken and some may appear grayish in color. Your skin may appear red and slightly swollen. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment and the amount of photodamage to the skin, the skin may be a little more red and swollen. Swelling and redness may last a few hours or may take a few days to subside. Within one to three weeks many of the darkened spots will flake off or fade away and redness will decrease, giving skin a more even tone.

How many treatments are needed? Will the spots/redness come back?
One to three treatments, depending on the level of damage being treated, should give the desired results. Limelight will treat current spots but it does not prevent future sun damage. New spots may appear with exposure to the sun, so applying an adequate sunscreen daily, is imperative to protecting your skin.  Rosacea cannot be cured but its appearance can be improved, so it may be necessary to retreat in order to maintain results.

Titan - skin tightening and collagen stimulation

What is it?  What does it do?
The Titan procedure uses infrared light to heat the dermal layer below the skin’s surface.  Heat reaches the collagen level creating a tightening of the collagen structure and promoting new collagen production.  The tightening of the sub-dermal layers will in turn help tighten the surface layers, resulting in the pulling in of sagging skin.
Titan can be used on different parts of the body wherever there is laxity in the skin (e.g. face, neck, upper arms, legs and abdomen).

What should I expect?  When will I see results?  Do I need more than one treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you may experience some minor redness and swelling but it should subside in a few hours and normal activities may be resumed.  The effect of skin tightening takes time and may not be noticeable for weeks to months, as the collagen is reorganized and stimulated. For optimum results, it is recommended that two to three treatments be done over the course of several months.

Laser Genesis - treatment of wrinkles, pore size, skin texture and redness

What is it?  What does it do?
Laser Genesis is a gentle easy procedure used to enhance the overall appearance of skin.  The treatment uses laser technology to deliver heat to the dermal/collagen layers, stimulating the collagen and warming the capillaries to reduce redness.  The result is younger looking, smoother and more even toned skin.  Laser Genesis is also used to minimize the appearance of scarring.

What should I expect?  How many treatments do I need?
The procedure causes minimal irritation to the skin.  Some mild swelling and redness may appear immediately following treatment but should subside within a few hours.  There is no down time and patients can resume normal activities after treatment.  Each treatment produces a subtle effect and it is recommended that patients receive four to six treatments to optimize results.  Laser Genesis can be done every two to four weeks until desired effect is reached.

Vein Therapy - correct broken or surface vessels

What is it?  What does it do?

Laser Vein Therapy can be adapted to all skin tones and types.  From the tiny vessels on the face to the broken spider veins on the legs, the laser has a broad range of settings to treat veins of different sizes and in different locations.  The laser delivers quick and safe results.  It works by sending pulses of light energy to the vein, causing the blood to coagulate and destroying the vein.  The treated area is gradually reabsorbed by the body and blood flow is redirected to deeper less visible veins.

What should I expect?  How many treatments do I need?
Following treatment, minor swelling, redness and some bruising may occur.  Some veins may appear darker during the healing process.  Swelling generally subsides within a day or so and redness and/or bruising will fade over time as your body reabsorbs the targeted veins.  Significant improvement is usually seen within two to six weeks, however, final results may not be seen for several months.  Often one treatment is enough in a given area, but depending on the amount of veins and the complexity of their structure, more than one treatment may be necessary.  Over time, new veins may appear.

Pearl Fractional - skin resurfacing

What is it?  Fractional lasers are used to resurface skin that is damaged from scarring, aging, sun exposure, etc.  The laser creates tiny micro-punctures in the skin and vaporizes the outer layer of skin.  The skin’s wound healing response is stimulated, creating new collagen production beneath the skin. The new collagen helps to even out the skin’s foundation and new skin heals on the surface.  The result should be more even tone and texture.

What should I expect?  Pearl Fractional settings can be customized by the doctor, depending on the severity of the skin damage.  Redness and scabbing are normal after treatment.  Limited activity may be recommended for a few days.

miraDry - permanent reduction ofunderarm sweat and odor

What is it?  What does it do?

MiraDry uses thermal energy to permanently eliminate sweat and odor glands and reduce hair under the arms.  It creates targeted heat in the area where the glands reside and safely destroys them.

What can I expect?

The treatment is done in the office and you will see significant results in as little as one treatment.  Underarms may be swollen and tender for a few days but should diminish in 1-2 weeks.
